Yarn Weight Conversion Calculators
BOOKMARK THIS PAGE so you can access it whenever you need. Here are a few yarn length and weight conversion calculators to help you with your knitting, crochet or other yarn crafts. The first is a simple converter between ounces and grams, metres (meters) and yards. The second calculator allows you to enter the full length of yarn required by a pattern and it will calculate how many balls of your own yarn you will need. The third converts from the Pattern balls of yarn to your own balls of yarn.
- If you know the weight but not the length of the Pattern Yarn, use 1) Simple Yarn Weight and Length Calculator.
- If you already have the total length of yarn required and want to know how many of your own balls are needed, use 2) Yarn Length to Balls.
- If you have the weight and length of the balls used in the pattern and want to convert to your own yarn, use 3) Yarn Balls from Design to My Yarn Balls. As there is more detail in the results for this one, you can add your details at the bottom, press the button “Email me” and it will email you the results.
- NOTE: All these conversions are based on the same thickness of yarn. For example – Fingering weight yarn needed in the pattern and Fingering weight for your own yarn.
