Floating Sunset Knitting Pattern
This lightweight, multicolored cowl is knitted in the round. It uses moss stitch and woven floats technique which is a variation on stranded colorwork. Chart reading is required. However, full written chart instructions are included as well. Two sizes available.
The unique woven effect plays with pattern, colours, light and texture. Like an impressionist art painting, this 2-5 colour hand knit cowl pattern subtly plays amongst the cloud tops. Make a few version altered to your favourite seasonal colours. The sample used sunset colours. The MC was a yellow hand dyed skein plus purple, orange, pink and blue for CC.
What other colours could you use? How about a pale mauve with charcoal clouds? Choose a cool blue/green background with navy details. Heat up your wardrobe with searing gold, burnt orange and burgundy with a deep purple contrast. There are so many variations! Whether you choose 1, 2, 3 or 4 colours for your CC, the pattern shows you when to change colours on the chart.
