Here’s a quick reference to the knitting calculator, conversion charts and knitting tools I have added to the website. Bookmark this page so you can see the new tools as they are added.

Women’s Size Chart – to help you decide which is the best size to knit your clothing.

Knitting Needle Size Convertor Chart – Making it easy to convert US to mm to UK to Japanese needle sizes.

Stitch Gauge Calculator – type in the gauge of the pattern, then your own gauge. It will show you how many more or less stitches you need to match the same measurements. Further down the page, you can add any measurement and it will show you how many stitches and rows/rounds you need to make up that width or height.

Calculate Bust Short rows – this presently comes in two forms. The first is the instructions on the page where you can make your calculations in your own notebook or spreadsheet. The second is a downloadable pdf file which you can download and print for free. There are 2 pages to record your measurements to use for any pattern, then there are 2 pages to use for the gauge of each pattern. I could change this into an online calculator too. Contact me if you think that would be helpful.

Calculate knitting side increase and decrease – whether you are working top down or bottom up, add your stitch gauge, ease (which can be different for each measurement) and your body measurements (bust, waist and hips). It will show you how many stitches to use at each measurement, how many increases or decreases you will need to make and how often you need to make them (ie. how many rows or rounds).
